STAND BY ME DORAEMON 2 (2020) - A SEQUEL THAT IS NOT TOO TOUCHING!

Two people we know finally got married. Those are the sentences used to promote Doraemon's latest popular character, Stand By Me Doraemon 2 . The presence of this sequel not only follows the success of his first film in 2014, but also celebrates the 50th birthday of the character created by Fujiko F. Fujio .

Still the same as its predecessor, Stand By Me Doraemon 2 uses 3DCG technology for animation. In this sequel, Nobita and Shizuka's wedding will appear on the big screen for the first time.

On his birthday, Nobita ( Ohara Megumi ) finds a teddy bear that was hand sewn by his late grandmother ( Miyamoto Nobuko ). The doll brought him back to remember the memories that made him miss his grandmother. This deep longing also led Nobita to ask Doraemon ( Mizuta Wasabi ) to use a time machine to visit his grandmother.

When meeting his grandmother, Nobita tries to grant his grandmother's one last wish, which is to see Nobita's future bride. But an unexpected thing happened, Nobita and Doraemon who went to the wedding day in the future found the adult Nobita disappeared. Nobita and Doraemon also go on a mission to find an adult Nobita while fulfilling their grandmother's promise.

This time in the sequel, the focus of the story is on two popular stories from the comic, namely Nobita with Grandma and Nobita's marriage to Shizuka in the future. The scene of Nobita's childhood memories with his grandmother and his return meeting calmly but surely makes tears unstoppable. The grandmother's warmth and the desire to reunite with a dead figure made emotions immediately mix up when she saw it.

In addition to the warm story of Nobita and Grandma, there is also a story of how an adult Nobita experienced confusion on his wedding day with Shizuka. Since childhood, he was famous for having many weaknesses and felt that he was not worthy to marry his idol. This is where we are invited to have an adventure with Nobita and Doraemon to ensure that the wedding day with Shizuka continues to run smoothly. Of course, in his adventure that spoils the eye, there is a story of Nobita's friendship with his friends. The story of loyalty and antique behavior of Nobita's friends is not only entertaining but gives a feeling of nostalgia for the characters that have been familiar for a long time.

The use of a time machine as one of the driving elements of the story in this film will leave a number of questions on your mind for some of the scenes that occur at the beginning.
