It's not wrong if Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train is so anticipated. The film, which is a direct sequel to the first season of the anime series, has indeed managed to meet the expectations of its fans.
Of course it is also not surprising that in the end Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train managed to break many records since its premiere in Japan in October 2020. Including being the highest grossing anime in Japan, beating Spirited Away which has held the title for 19 years.
Not only that, Mugen Train was also able to reach ¥ 15 billion or $ 150 million in just 17 days. And within 24 days it was able to reach ¥ 20 billion, which of course made Mugen Train the fastest film to reach that figure in Japan. Even Mugen Train's achievements in Japan made it past the achievements of popular Hollywood films, namely Titanic, Frozen, and the Harry Potter franchise.
For those who have followed the story in the manga created by Koyoharu Gotoge since 2016, of course, they will not be surprised by the story in the film this time. Because the manga has already met the finish line in May 2020.
It's just that for those who didn't read the manga and started from the anime series, Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train is of course very much awaited because it continues the story from the ending in season 1.
Where Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Inosuke Hashibiri, and Zenitsu Agatsuma continue their adventure with the fire hashira (pillar), Kyojuro Rengoku, in exterminating demons. However, a new problem arose when the train they were riding in turned out to be possessed by the devil. A fierce battle was inevitable which led them to the thin line between life and death.

And in this film, the comedic element deserves thumbs up. It appeared not so often but was always maximal in providing a punchline that invited great laughter. The comedy element is able to bring funny moments to unexpected scenes. Everything is served in a perfect way.
Even the moments of emotion are still embedded in this film. Especially the scene that reminds Tanjiro of the moment he lost his family member. Where the pain, longing, and regret are so great they combine and the audience seems to be allowed to feel the pain too.
5. A Mature Story
It cannot be denied that death is a fairly important element in building the whole story in this film. Where we are allowed to see Tanjiro's pain once again.
But it is also what makes this film feel even more mature. Tanjiro didn't just learn to control himself and take his revenge on the demons alone. More than that, Tanjiro is required to be able to get rid of his attachments to regret in his past, to then step up and focus on what he should be doing.
Surely this will be a solid bridge to start a new Tanjiro story in the second season. Where maturity and maturity will be able to bring the adventures of Tanjiro and friends to a higher level. If you like anime, let alone follow the story of Kimetsu no Yaiba, of course don't miss this Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train. The reason is that the combination of beautiful visuals and scoring that spoils the eyes and ears is indeed the most solidly seen on the largest possible screen.
From the point of view of the story there is no need to doubt. Mugen Train has succeeded in presenting a slick and flowing storytelling with a conflict that feels reasonable and continues to increase gradually. Even the spectacular fights will definitely not bore you.
Practically, the writers only found deficiencies in one scene that felt very long. The intention may be to play with the emotions of the audience, but it feels exaggerated and loses its meaning. But that's all, the rest Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train has succeeded in satisfying anime lovers, especially Demon Slayer fans everywhere.
