TIPS: HOW TO TREAT HAIR LOSS IN MEN?

About 2/3 of men are affected by baldness and 1/3 will become bald. Although this is a completely normal phenomenon, it is often badly experienced by men who suffer from it. Baldness changes the appearance and the reflection of the mirror is not the same.

Many reasons can lead to hair loss such as stress (rapid and sudden loss), a diet poor in vitamins H and B6, the application of certain aggressive products for the scalp or even the taking of certain medications.

The hair cycles

The first, the anagen phase, is the period of hair growth in the hair follicle. At its base, keratin is produced and the hair grows at around 1cm per month.

Finally, the telogen phase: the hair no longer grows but remains in place in the follicle for 3 months. It will then fall off and the follicle restarts an anagen phase.

At any time, 10% of our hair is in the telogen phase and 90% in the anagen phase. Hair renewal is therefore a constant process. Each follicle is capable of doing between 20 to 30 cycles.

Why baldness?

Genetically induced baldness induces an exacerbated sensitivity of the hair follicle to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This hormone is a derivative of testosterone and causes the premature death of hair follicles which enter the catagen phase more quickly.

By the action of 5 α -reductase, present in the sebaceous gland adjoining the hair follicle, testosterone is transformed into DHT.

Studies now agree that it is not the abundance of testosterone that induces the problem but the sensitivity of DHT receptors in the follicles that induces the acceleration of hair cycles. The follicles atrophy and the hair fall out.

The hormonal process is found in both men and women. Even though testosterone levels are lower in women, sensitivity to DHT can be very high. In addition, at menopause, female hormones decrease and then give the advantage to androgens including DHT.

How do lotions work?

The mode of action of best oil for hair regrowth is partially known. Medicines that contain it induce hair regrowth. Best oil for hair regrowth stimulates the growth of keratinocytes in the hair follicle.

Best oil for hair regrowth-based drugs come in two different strengths: 2% or 5%. Women will be directed towards the 2% dosage because of hyper pilosity (or down) which may appear on the cheeks or on the skin. For men, the 5% dosage will be recommended from the outset.

How to apply them?

Best oil for hair regrowth is the standard treatment for alopecia. It is very important to apply it twice a day to the affected areas.

To do this, take 1 ml using the pipette provided in the packaging. Apply the product in the centre of the area to be treated and spread the product with the fingertips, massaging lightly.

For conditioning in the form of a spray, direct the pump towards the centre of the area to be treated and squeeze once than spread the product over the entire area. To deliver the right dose of the lotion, make 6 sprays, distributing the product each time.

Be sure to wash your hands well before and after using and handling the lotion.
Do not use a hairdryer after application.
Be careful not to let the lotion run on the temples or forehead (unwanted hair growth could occur, in the wrong place in this case).
Best oil for hair regrowth should be used on a normal, healthy scalp.

What are the results?

The results obtained will be even better in people under 35 years old with a tonsure less than 8/10 cm and occurring <10 years.

It is estimated that a third of people see clear regrowth, a third see stabilization of hair loss and the last third see no result. Correct regrowth can be observed after 4 to 12 months of application, under normal conditions of use.

It should be noted that the effect of this drug has no lasting effect. Hair loss resumes when treatment is stopped and a return to the previous state is expected after 3 to 4 months of discontinuation.

Other leads?

Oral medications are available to treat baldness. Finasteride has side effects and is only available with a doctor's prescription.

Surgical solutions also exist with the advantage of a definitive solution for the patient.

Recent studies are leading towards the future use of stem cells. The first results are promising but a few years will still be necessary for this track to be applied in humans.
