Move over Jacob Elordi, there’s a new boy to swoon over, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin. And he is also part of a widely popular YA franchise. We’re sensing a theme.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin was born in London on 6 November 1997, the son of film director Martha Fiennes and cinematographer George Tiffin. He has an older brother named Titan and a younger sister named Mercy. According to a 2020 interview, he does not hyphenate his name because his parents were never married. He was educated at Raey Primary School in Lambeth, Emanuel School in Battersea, and Graveney School in Tooting. He is a member of the Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes family; his great-grandfather was Sir Maurice Fiennes, while his uncles are actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes. His maternal grandparents were photographer Mark Fiennes and novelist Jennifer Lash.
Fiennes Tiffin made his first film appearance as Spartak in the 2008 drama film Bigga Than Ben. He earned the part of Tom Riddle (the young Voldemort) in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince over thousands of young actors who auditioned for the role, though at least one publication alleged that his family connections alone landed him the part. Director David Yates said he was cast due to his ability to find "the darker space" in his line readings, and that he did not get the role due to his relation to Ralph Fiennes, his uncle who plays Voldemort, but admitted the family resemblance was a "clincher". Yates described Fiennes Tiffin as "very focused and disciplined" and said he "got the corners and dark moods and odd spirit of the character" as well as having a "wonderful haunted quality that seemed to bring Tom Riddle alive on-screen for us".
Now that The Kissing Booth 3 has hit screens, signalling the end of the franchise (we can practically hear Jacob Elordi celebrating from here), the next teen romance film to look forward to is After We Fell (sequel to After & After We Collided).
You know, the movies based on the Harry Styles fanfiction written by Anna Todd?
The franchise stars Australian actress Josephine Langford (who plays Tessa Young) and English actor Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (who plays Hardin Scott…. slightly different to his role as young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter, we gotta say).
If you’ve been obsessed with Hardin, allow us to introduce you to the man behind the character and answer the all-important question: does Hero Fiennes-Tiffin have a girlfriend?
Does Hero Fiennes-Tiffin have a girlfriend?
Long story short, nope he doesn’t! The British actor is single and according to an interview with ELLE from February 2019, he’s never had a “proper” relationship (his own words!).
“Interestingly enough,” he began, a little reticently, “I’ve never had, like, a proper relationship. I haven’t had a girl I would call my girlfriend.”
Similarly, he semi-dodged a question later that year in April about what it was like to go on a first date. “I’m not in a position to give the best advice,” he told Hollywire, “but I would just say, ‘Be yourself.’ Enjoy it. Be yourself. Be honest. It differs from person to person, but essentially: Be yourself.” You can watch trailer after 3 we fell here.
As for what he’s looking for in a relationship, according to Fed Regs Advisor, the actor places more emphasis on “inner values” rather than aesthetics.
“Appearance is not important to me. Inner values count. When I date a girl, the chemistry has to be right,” Hero said.
Has he been linked to anyone romantically?
In early 2019, we got a glimpse that *something* could be happening in Hero’s dating life. Model Chanal Benjilali posted an Instagram story, seemingly showing her and the actor cuddling… on Valentine’s Day, no less.
However, after a brief flurry of dating rumours from fans, the author of the original After novels chimed in to clear the air. “Hero’s not dating anyone, do him a favor and stop posting about it,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Are Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Josephine Langford dating?
The other fan-favourite from the After films is Hero’s costar Josephine Langford, who many fans also ship together.
Hero Beauregard Faulkner Fiennes Tiffin (born 6 November 1997) is an English actor, model and producer. He is known for his starring role as Hardin Scott in the After film series. He also portrayed 11-year-old Tom Riddle, the young version of the antagonist Lord Voldemort, in the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Fiennes Tiffin prefers to keep a low profile when not promoting his work. Having only one active social media account, he told W magazine in a 2019 interview, “I had all of those apps ages ago, and then I deleted them when I realised I was just wasting my time. But I kept Instagram because my agents advised me to, and I completely understand and agree that it’s such a useful, powerful tool, even though you can kind of get lost in it. I just made it to keep up with my friends, but now that so many fans follow me, it’s a slightly different audience.”
Fiennes Tiffin won the Choice Drama Movie Actor award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, and also received the 2019 Rising Star award at the Ischia Film Festival.
However, despite the very steamy scenes and natural chemistry between the two, it’s *just friends* for the pair.
They’ve even joked about how well they work together before; in Hero’s last interview with Girlfriend, he revealed: “It would have been tough if we had no chemistry.”
Well, we guess that settles it! Ladies, he’s on the market. Maybe this time it’ll be your Wattpad fanfiction scenario come to life.
