Knowing the different levels of makeup when it comes to what is appropriate versus what is inappropriate is necessary in the corporate setting. There are three levels of makeup that are recognized in the corporate setting. The three levels are: 1.) Not enough 2). Just enough 3.) Too much. These three levels have everything to do with how you are regarded and respected within your organization. People who tend to not wear enough makeup, or wear too much makeup, are generally not well-respected within the workplace.

There are reasons that wearing makeup is appropriate and there are reasons that wearing too much makeup or not enough, is inappropriate. Wearing just enough makeup could cover minor flaws such as under eye bags (or under eye puffiness) and discoloration, which can be caused from a myriad of things such as lack of rest and vitamin deficiency. Wearing the right amount of makeup could make you look and feel more alive and well rested. Feeling more alive and well rested can give off an aura of confidence. Not wearing enough makeup will show when you are tired, burned out, and unhealthy or not well. Wearing too much makeup, can seem as though you are hiding something and you are not trustworthy.

Confidence is promoted within every organization, or at least it should be. When confidence is promoted, leadership is being promoted. It is important to look at what your organization is doing to promote confidence in the workplace. Studies show that when employees are in a healthy environment, they tend to stay on the jobs, do what needs to be done, and live happier lives. Confidence also is healthy where negotiation skills are required. Confidence plays a huge role in whether or not a company or an organization has longevity, in a sense.

The moral of this article is find a healthy balance in your makeup regime in your corporate setting. Wearing makeup that looks very natural is key. Learn the appropriate levels versus the inappropriate levels a makeup wearing in your organization so that you can send the right signals.
