5 Facts about Levi and Mikasa, is it true that both of them are related by blood?

Levi and Mikasa are two important characters in the manga and anime of the same name, namely  Attack On Titan. The two of them are part of a search force that has more duties outside the protective walls.

Levi, who initially didn't want to mention the name of his clan, was later discovered to have the same surname Ackerman as Mikasa. Then, what is the true relationship between the two? To answer this question, consider the facts below!     

1. At first Mikasa hated Levi

When Maria's gate is destroyed by the Colossal titan , Eren can surprisingly turn into a giant . He allied himself with an army of investigators against all the titans  who wanted to eat humans. Even though he was instrumental in closing the hole in Maria's gate made by the colossal titan , Eren's strength actually brought him to court.

Eren is afraid that at any time, he can turn into a  titan and turn to attack humans. This is evidenced by Eren who had attacked Mikasa when he changed form. However Levi assures the judge that Eren is a 'stealth' that can be controlled.

Levi beat and even kicked Eren in the face in order to convince the judge and all court participants present. Apparently, this also made Mikasa furious at Levi. He was unable to see Eren being tortured and almost went into the middle of the courtroom to stop Levi, but he was arrested by Armin.

2. Levi cares about Mikasa

Even though Levi is hated by Mikasa, in fact Levi still cares about Mikasa. It was proven that while on a mission to save Eren from the  Female Titan,  Levi did not save Mikasa just once but twice. First, when Mikasa tried to chase the  Female Titan  without a plan and the second was when Mikasa recklessly wanted to kill the  Female Titan.

Levi is very loyal in protecting his troops and does not want to see more lives lost in the mission. Even so, the Female Titan's  power managed to kill some of the troops and of course Levi didn't want Mikasa to feel that too.

3. Levi and Mikasa are good fighters

Either because they are both surnamed Ackerman or other factors, but both Levi and Mikasa are members of the investigator who have excellent fighting abilities. Both of them were very good at aiming at the neck of the titan. 

When he first entered military training alone, Mikasa was able to become the first seed during his training period. Meanwhile, Levi himself, who was already a member of the investigation, had a wealth of experience that made him even stronger.

4. Both are distant relatives

Even though Mikasa and Levi both have the last name Ackerman, in fact they are not siblings. Mikasa and Levi were born to different parents. But it is possible that they are distant cousins. Because Levi comes from the main Ackerman family who has divine powers while Mikasa is from the Branch Ackerman family.

5. Has innate strength

In manga chapter 63, Levi asked Mikasa about the origins of the Ackerman family in the past. Levi also asks if Mikasa has ever felt a huge power emerge from within her body. Mikasa also replied that he had felt this way.

Levi revealed that he and his uncle Kenny had also felt a strange power suddenly emerge from within his body. Apparently, this power comes from the power of the  titan. The Ackerman clan still has a bloodline with the Eldia kingdom which is endowed with titan  power but still in human form.
