In February there are two adjacent celebrations, namely Chinese New Year and Valentine. Even though I don't celebrate both of them, there will usually be a lot of promos or films shown with that theme.

One of the films from Thailand with a type of romantic comedy : The Con Heartist features a unique and entertaining comedy story. The story begins with Ina, a bank employee who has a vlog to document her struggle to pay off debts in the next few years. In the vlog, Ina includes an account number so that there are donors who are willing to help pay off their debts.

One day Ina got a call from the tax officer to transfer some money to the officer's account because Ina received a transfer in the amount of 500,000 baht. When Ina was about to transfer, it turned out that it was in her personal name and it was discovered that the person was a con artist.

Ina then threatened to spread the voice recording to the media, so that the fraudster was caught. The conman then begged to be removed, Ina then asked for cooperation to deceive the former Petch who made him have a lot of debt.

The story line then flashback tells how Ina was willing to lend money to a younger and handsome man. Because Ina is still innocent and in love, she sacrifices a lot of money for Petch, who finally realizes that she has been cheated.

The conman or Tower who is already shrewd has the ability to read people's lips even though it is a long distance, he also agrees to cheat in a large amount of 3000,000 baht. Tower and Ina then made a plan by making travel uniforms, providing tickets to Russia for hotel managers and recruiting two additional people, namely Ina's customer, a teacher who has car payments and Petch's brother.

These four people have their respective duties as a hotel sales manager and as a client of Liu's beautiful mother who is also rich from China. The scenario goes according to plan, although unexpected things happen, it can be resolved in a funny way.

Several scenes in the film succeeded in making me laugh out loud when watching the comic on February 18, 2021. The light story, the right acting of the players and the easy-to-follow story line made this film a pleasure to watch to the end. Although there are some parts that make me disgusted or dirty but they don't interfere with the whole story.
At first glance, it is similar to Ocean Eleven, but there are fewer teams and a romantic theme in the film. Stories as victims of fraud often occur around us because we are blinded by love, so we become bucin or slaves of love. Even though the people we help are just known and have evil intentions, they just want to take advantage of them. When he got what he wanted he simply walked away.

This experience made Ina realize that she was too kind to young strangers. Even though she was confused by Petch's seduction at the end of the film, she was finally able to take a firm stance not to be fooled the second time around. The romantic side of this film is indeed a little, but it can make the audience smile at Ina and Tower's chemistry.

For me, The Con Heartist film succeeded in entertaining the audience because all the elements in the film fit the story, actor acting, dialogue, and silly behavior. It doesn't even need to be a vulgar romantic scene but it can show affection and empathy for your partner with the right dialogue and body language.
