Its no secret that Im an SAO fan. This season has brought be great joy, as season 3 is finally

It's no secret that I'm an SAO fan. This season has brought be great joy, as season 3 is finally here. I'm super stoked since I've completed the light novels, so this is the first time I actually know what is going to happen. It'll be interesting to see how much they stick to the source material, and how often they deviate.

The story is set after the GGO incident, and after the Ordinal Scale incident. Kirito is doing some part time work for Rath, working with a machine called a "Soul Translator". It has the ability to create a virtual world indistinguishable from real life.

After being attacked by the third perp of death gun, Kirito is rushed to the hospital! Then... he awakens in a mysterious, yet nostalgic, world. Where is he? Why is he there?

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Boy was this a pleasant surprise! This has turned out to be one of my favorite anime of the season, just for the banter between the two main characters. It is so sweet, and funny, I just fell in love with them.

"Puberty Syndrome" is a phenomenon that affects adolescents. Currently, it is affecting Mai, a high school actress. She is finding that less and less people can see her. So, she walks around periodically in a bunny suit, to see if she gets any reactions. That's when she runs into a classmate by the name of Sakuta... and he can see her.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

The first episode of this had me hooked. I mean, any episode where a man's dying wish is to have is hard drive wiped, has got my vote. This turned out to be a pretty funny twist on the over-saturated genre.

Satoru is a middle aged man that agreed to join his junior, and his new girlfriend, at a meetup. What he didn't plan on was jumping in between them and a perp with a knife. Before he knows it, he's dead, and suddenly alive again... in another world... as a slime.

Goblin Slayer

Goblins, goblins, goblins.

Goblin Slayer shocked everyone with its very... intense first episode. While others were put off, I welcome the nice change on the genre. It's a serious show, with some pretty great comic relief moments.

Goblin Slayer is the name of an adventurer who only takes on goblin hunting quests. After saving a priest from a pitiful fate, she joins his party. Later, more and more come looking for him, seeking his skills.

Zombieland Saga

I've never, ever watched an idol show. But... this season, I'm watching an idol show. This show is hilarious. I love it. I don't even care that it's an idol show. The comedic punchlines are on point.

When five former pop idols suddenly wake up as zombies, they have no idea what's going on! Things only get more weird when their manager declares them to be a new idol group, and they are to play at shows! But, of course, no one can find out they're zombies.

That's about all I have to say! If you enjoyed this nice, little article, and want to read more about anime, coding, gaming, or whatever else pops into my head, you can do so over on my personal site.

Thanks for reading.

When talking about the majorly successful anime series Naruto and its array of distinctive, complex and engaging antagonists, the name Pain (or Pein depending on your preference of spelling) is more often than not found to be quite high up on that list. And for good reason too.

But before we delve further into why exactly that's the case, it's worth taking a brief look at the ginger-head's extensive background as a quick reminder - or even an initial summary for those who aren't as familiar with the story of Naruto, since it's good to be mindful of the fact that there's always more than meets the eye.

Pain, as fans would know, came onto the scene many, many years after the tragic story is revealed of a set of three homeless struggling friends from the Rain Village Amegakure were mentored and taught the essentials of ninjutsu by Jiraiya for survival purposes who eventually went on to leave the trio once he felt no more guidance was necessary. These three close friends; Nagato, Yahiko and Konan were the survivors of a long-term war which left their home village ravaged, almost uninhabited and destroyed. They swore to return and change all that which was made possible once they'd been tutored enough by one of the three Legendary Sannin of the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

Nagato at some point 'developed' his Rinnegan - which as you may know, is widely debated to be the strongest of the three Eye Powers (Doujutsu) within the Ninja universe at that point in the series. This, however, is later to be shown as a ploy on Madara Uchiha's end; implanting his awakened eyes into Nagato (an Uzumaki containing abnormally high levels of chakra) to be used as an investment of sorts for the future, once he'd successfully won the shinobi over to his side. A big part of this plan rested on Obito Uchiha, who'd spent much of the series under the alias of Tobi and then Madara. Turns out, Madara's plan worked out impeccably well through Obito and they had managed to persuade Nagato Yahiko and Konan to initiate the Akatsuki movement.

Whilst Akatsuki's conception was based on more noble causes in the trio's eyes, this all changed once Yahiko was murdered in cold blood after being sabotaged by another leading shinobi amidst peace negotiation talks. Nagato wasn't shown to be too strong emotionally since his debut. Yahiko was the pillar of support and the lifeline for the other two. His death resulted in a complete emotional breakdown and psychosis for the redhead, who had then turned his hatred on the whole bitter loss towards the shinobi world once more.

This all resulted in the birth of Pain as we know him. The Rinnegan-possessing cold and calculated leader of the Akatsuki. Behind the face of it all is actually Nagato Uzumaki with his vendetta against the corrupt Shinobi world.

Pain Yahiko was the product of Nagato's Rinnegan powers and vengeful mindset put at work; rods of chakra-receiving nature planted strategically into the dead body of his dear friend in attempts to keep him and his memory alive. Konan appeared to be more of an accomplice in the matter as opposed to the chief schemer.
